Auburn High School graduate Dae’Kwan Watson was named ERCK Hotels Frontier Conference men’s basketball player of the week on Feb. 5.
The former Trojan is in his sophomore season at Montana State University-Northern, which is an NAIA school in Harve, Montana.
During this week of play: “Watson averaged 25.5 points per game as the Lights split two games. He shot 42.9 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc with six made 3-pointers. The sophomore also averaged 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per outing. In the Lights 87-83 home win over Rocky Mountain, Watson scored a season-high 32 points with four threes and three steals. He then went for 19 points, three rebounds, and three assists in a loss at Providence,” a press release from Frontier Conference said.
It is Watson’s second time winning athlete of the week, back on Dec. 6, and the third time an MSU-Northern player has been named a recipient.
