High school soccer playoffs preview for Auburn

Both teams open up competitions May 6.

As the regular season came to a close on May 2, the district tournament brackets were revealed. came out. The Auburn Reporter will highlight all the matchups and information on those games for each school in the area.

7 Auburn Riverside (6-2-7) @ 2 Silas (14-0-1)

Last Meeting: Silas W 3-1 (May 14, 2016)

Details: Facing the number one seed in the PCL is no joke. The Ravens have their work cut out for them. Auburn Riverside lost a play-in game last in last year’s state tournament. With 12 rostered seniors this year, they have the experience to knock off a good Silas team. Silas was eliminated last year by Kent-Meridian in the district tournament.

13 Auburn Mountainview (7-8-3) @ 12 River Ridge (7-8-1)

Last Meeting: N/A

Details: Lion’s Head Coach Joey West told me he wanted his team to hit their stride at the end of the season. And they have done so, going 5-2-1 to close out the season after April 5. Auburn Mountainview is coming off of a 7-0 win against Auburn and could be firing on all cylinders in the playoffs.
