Both the Lion girls and boys basketball teams will play in the South Puget Sound League 3A/Seamount 3A sub-district tourney this week.

Both the Lion girls and boys basketball teams will play in the South Puget Sound League 3A/Seamount 3A sub-district tourney this week.

The Auburn Mountainview boys, who finished the season with a third-place, 5-5 league record, 12-9 overall, will take on the third-place Seamount League Hazen Highlanders (8-6 league, 10-10 overall) at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hazen.

The winner will earn the No. 3 seed into the West Central/Southwest District tourney which begins Feb. 14 at Clover Park and Franklin Pierce high schools. The loser will be the No. 4 seed.

The No. 9 ranked Lion girls who finished first in the SPSL 3A (9-1, 17-4) will play the second-place Seamount League Kennedy Catholic Lancers (10-4, 11-8) at 6 p.m. Friday at Lakes High School for the No. 1 seed into the West Central/Southwest District 3A tourney, which begins Feb. 16 at Clover Park and Franklin Pierce high schools.
