The Auburn Mountainview boys soccer team earned the No. 5 seed into the state playoffs with a 3-1 win over South Puget Sound League rival Sumner on Saturday in a West Central District III/Southwest District 4 tournament loser-out game.

The Lions (11-6-0) open play in the state playoffs against Kamiakin (10-9) at 5 p.m. tonight at Neil F. Lampson Stadium in Kennewick.

The winner moves on to the quarterfinals and a match against the either Garfield (13-3-2) or Mt. Spokane, date and location to be determined.

Auburn Mountainview advanced to play the Spartans (12-6) for the No. 5 seed with a 1-0 win over Wilson (9-3-5) in the opening round of the tourney.
