The Auburn Mountainview gymnastics team laid claim to the Auburn all-city title with a 165.15 team finish this past week at Auburn High School.
The Lions, who finished third at the 3A state meet this past year, topped their cross town rivals, Auburn Riverside (160.15) and Auburn (148.75).
In the all-around, however, it was all Raven junior Rebecca Turnbow, who notched a 37.10 individual score. Turnbow was first on the beam (9.75) and the bars (9.35), grabbed second in the floor exercise (9.45) and finished third in the vault (8.55).
The Lions snatched first and second place in the all-around with senior Ashley Perkovich and sophomore Natalie Hostetter earning second and third place with a 35.60 and a 34.95 score, respectively.
Perkovich finished first in the vault (8.70) and the floor exercise (9.50) and was second on the bars (8.10).
Hostetter finished third on the bars (7.70) and the beam (9.30) and tied for third in the floor exercise (9.05) with sophomore teammate Jecinda Goodman.
Auburn Mountainview senior Kendra Alexson finished second in the vault with an 8.65.
Auburn Riverside’s Paige Crawford was second on the beam (9.40).
The three schools will compete with the rest of the South Puget Sound League 3A and 4A teams in the sub-district meet this Saturday at Kentwood High School.
