Auburn Mountainview put a 9-0 hurting on Wilson on Thursday to advance to the semi-finals of the West Central/Southwest District 3A tournament. The Lions (13-9) rode the arm of senior Steven Johnson who earned the win on the bump.
Sophomore catcher Brice McCulloch had three hits, two runs and two RBIs in the contest, with sophomore Derek Stephen adding two hits, two runs and an RBI. Sophomore Kekoa Nahaku added two hits and a run.
Auburn Mountainview will play Camas at 1 p.m. Saturday at Auburn Mountainview for a shot at the district title game, which will be at 7 p.m. Saturday. A loss for the Lions against Camas relegates them to a 4 p.m. game against either Enumclaw or Timberline, also at Auburn Mountainview, for the third or fourth seed into the state 3A tourney.
