Auburn Mountainview delivers with 48-21 win over Enumclaw; Auburn falls 20-17 to Curtis | Football

Auburn Mountainview notched another first for the football program on Friday, with the team’s first ever win over South Puget Sound League 3A foe Enumclaw, 48-21 at Pete’s Pool.

The Lions (2-0 league, 5-1 overall) ruined the Hornets (0-2, 1-5) homecoming game, with senior Victor Korchemniy running roughshod over Enumclaw with 96 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries in the contest.

Quarterback Domenic Rockey was 17-of-27 for 145 yards and two TDs, including a 5-yard strike to Joey Cassano and a 17-yard TD pass to Skyler White.

In addition to his TD, White also had a seven reception for 75 yards, as well as a 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Dalton Keene got things started for Auburn Mountainview in the contest with a 4-yard TD run in the first quarter.

Cramer Helton added 45 yards rushing on seven carries for the Lions.

Auburn Mountainview will travel to No. 9 Peninsula (1-1, 5-1) at 7 p.m. next Friday.

ALSO: The Auburn Trojans (2-3 South Puget Sound League North 4A, 2-4 overall) lost their fourth straight game on Friday, falling 20-17 to Curtis (3-2, 3-3) in non-league action at Auburn Memorial Stadium. Blake Ellison and Darnell Hagans both scored TDs for the Trojans, with Hagans posting a 41-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Axel Barajas added a 26-yard field goal. Auburn will look to get back on the winning track at 7 p.m. next Friday at French Field against undefeated Kentlake (6-0, 6-0).
