“Our goal was just to get here,” coach Chris Carr said of his underclassman-laden roster. “And we always said let’s make some noise this year and get ready for next year.”

Against the Lancers, Mountainview was unable to overcome a poor shooting performance, hitting just 26.7 percent from the field for the game.

“We just didn’t make shots in the first half,” Carr said. “I think we got good shots and I think our defense was decent.”

Kennedy, which takes home the fourth-place hardware, was led by Aminah Williams’ 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Auburn Mountainview was led by junior Cait Carr with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Aalia Braboy and Shayla Wolf added five points each.

The Lions finished the season with a 23-9 record.
