The records keep falling for the Auburn Mountainview boys swimming and diving team.

The Lions’ 200-yard medley relay team set a school record with a first-place time of 1 minute, 42.99 seconds at the South Puget Sound League 3A swimming championships at Lakes High School on Saturday.

The finish qualifies the foursome – Cameron Lindsay, Jourdan Rogers, John Kyle Davis and Luke Lavine – for this week’s West Central District III 3A meet at the Hazen Pool in Renton and the state 3A championships Feb. 15-16 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The Lions’ 400 and 200 free relay teams already have earned state berths with qualifying times of 3:26.42 and 1:33.52, respectively.

At the league meet, Auburn Mountainview also captured the 200 individual medley, with Lindsay swimming to a 1:58.99 finish. Lindsay already has earned a state berth in the event with a 1:57.80 time posted earlier this season.

Lindsay, the reigning state 3A 100 backstroke champion, qualified for state in that event earlier this season with an All-American consideration time of 51.29.

Also finishing first at the league meet was Davis who delivered a time of 57.34 in the 100 butterfly.

In the team competition, the Lions finished third with 404 points. Enumclaw was first with 453.5 followed by Peninsula with 424.5 points.

The district meet begins at 4:30 p.m. Friday, with finals starting at 5 p.m. Saturday.

ALSO: The Lions’ Luke Lavine posted a state-qualifying time this season. Lavine’s 22.65 in the 50 free earned him a state berth.
