Auburn Mountainview’s Hunt finishes fifth in state 3A floor exercise

Auburn Mountainview's Cassie Hunt captured a tie for fifth place in the floor exercise at Saturday's state 3A gymnastics championships at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.

Auburn Mountainview’s Cassie Hunt captured a tie for fifth place in the floor exercise at Saturday’s state 3A gymnastics championships at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.

Hunt, a senior, posted a 9.425 performance on the second day of the meet, putting her in a tie for fifth with Sammamish’s Nykaela Dodson.

Hunt also competed in the state all-around competition, finishing 26th overall with 33.275 points.

Auburn Mountainview’s Hannah Houck finished 57th on the beam with a 7.925 and 86th on the floor with an 8.150.

Also competing were the Lions’ Lauren Brudvik who was tied for 53rd on the vault with an 8.300, and Vasha McQuarrie who earned a three-way tie for 77th on the bars with a 6.150.

Highline’s Kristen Rodal was first in the 3A all-around with a 37.950. Enumclaw won the team competition with 181.050 points.

ALSO: In the state 4A competition, Auburn Riverside’s Madi Miller finished 46th in the floor exercise. Heritage’s Britni Atwell won the 4A all-around with 37.375 points and Emerald Ridge was first in the team competition with 174.050 points.
