The Auburn Mountainview doubles team of Sierra Silva and Victoria Bolshakova will compete in the Washington State 3A championship girls tennis tournament next weekend, courtesy of their 2-0 performance yesterday.

The Auburn Mountainview doubles team of Sierra Silva and Victoria Bolshakova will compete in the Washington State 3A championship girls tennis tournament next weekend, courtesy of their 2-0 performance yesterday.

The sophomores squeaked by in their first-round 6-7, 7-5, 7-5 and defeated their second round foes 6-4, 6-1.

The wins earn the team one of the top-four seeds into the state tourney, May 30-31 in Kennewick.

Also competing at the tourney were the doubles team of Celeste Andreotti and Lauren Kearney and the singles player Leanna Harris.

Harris exited the district tourney on Friday with a 6-0, 6-1 loss to Peninsula’s Allie Barry in the consolation bracket. Harris also lost to Fort Vancouver’s Angelina Polina, 6-0, 6-2 in the opening round.

Kearny and Andreaotti were eliminated with a 6-1,, 6-3 loss in the first-round and a 6-3, 6-4 defeat in the consolation bracket.
