Auburn Riverside High School’s Jasmin Muneton, girls cross country, is the Auburn Reporter’s Female Athlete of the Week.
Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: Language arts and math.
Q: What other activities do you participate in?
A: I enjoy playing soccer. I still play for the Federal Way Football Club. I also play the clarinet, and I have been playing it since the sixth grade. I was a district cross country champion three years in a row at my middle school.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My family has helped me succeed, but mostly it’s been my sister, Daisy. I remember when I first saw her run in middle school and told my dad that I wanted to be a runner.
Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?
A: I have a post-game tradition in which I pray and talk to my Aunt Shelly and my dog Oreo, who recently passed away. I look up to the sky and tell them that I love them, and that I’m dedicating my race to them.
Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?
A: “Perfect Strangers,” by Jonas Blue, and “Freak Me” by Ciara. I really like the best of the songs. Those are my go-to songs before my races.
