Auburn Riverside earned a berth in the West Central District III/Southwest District 4 4A Girls Basketball Tournament Tuesday, beating Bethel 41-35 in a loser-out South Puget Sound League 4A tourney contest.
Mckenzi Williams led the Ravens (11-9) with 10 points, Brittni Williams contributed eight and Emily Vaines added six. Rachel Davey and Payton Dunne had five points each.
Bethel’s (7-10) Moesha Mack had a game-high 12 points.
Auburn Riverside played Bellarmine Prep (15-2) in the first round of the district tourney on Thursday. The results were unavailable at press time.
A win against Bellarmine Prep would earn ARHS a 2:45 p.m. game Saturday against either Curtis (11-6) or Kentwood (16-5) at Rogers High School in Puyallup. A loss would put the Ravens into the consolation bracket, pitting them against either Curtis or Kentwood at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Stadium High School in Tacoma.
The district tournament continues next week and ends Feb. 22.
The 4A Girls Basketball regional tournament begins March 1 at locations to be determined.
The 2014 Hardwood Classic Washington State Championship tournament is March 6-8 at the Tacoma Dome.
