Auburn Riverside falls to Rogers 9-5, gets No. 8 SPSL seed into district tourney | Baseball

Despite a strong start from junior ace Michael Rucker and two home runs from sophomore Austin Marty, the Ravens were unable to hold off Rogers, falling 9-5 to the Rams in South Puget Sound League 4A tournament action at Heritage Park this past Friday. The loss relegates Auburn Riverside to the No. 8 seed into the West Central District III/Southwest District tournament and a game against Stadium at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Curtis High School in University Place.

After three strong innings from Rucker, the Ravens’ bullpen gave up three runs in the fifth inning and six runs in the sixth inning, with Taylor Maples earning the loss.

Rogers’ Josh Howard had three RBIs and Isaac Leisure earned the win.
