Auburn Riverside falls to Tahoma 42-19 | Football

The Ravens fell prey to the big play against Tahoma on Friday, falling 42-19 to the Bears in South Puget Sound League North 4A action at Auburn Memorial Stadium.

After a hard fight first-half that found Auburn Riverside (2-4 league, 3-4 overall) trailing Tahoma (4-2, 4-3) 13-6, the Ravens found themselves on the receiving end of 29 second-half points posted by the Bears, including passing touchdowns of 63, 41 and 33 yards.

Tahoma’s Denham Patricelli rode roughshod over Auburn Riverside, catching two passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns and returning a second quarter interception 75 yards for a TD.

The Ravens were led by running back Jaray Bates, who had 13 carries for 150 yards, including a 5-yard TD in the fourth quarter. Bates also returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown.

Josh Latta had 22 carries for 132 yards and was 15-of-34 passing for 210 yards, with an interception and a touchdown for Auburn Riverside.

Kameron Boardway had six catches for 96 yards and a TD and Andrey Zadneprovskiy added five catches for 48 yards.

The Ravens will play third-place Kentwood (4-2, 5-2) at 7 p.m. next Friday at French Field.

Peninsula’s (2-1, 6-1) Danny Welstad piled up 205 yards and a TD against the Lions (2-1, 5-2), who host No. 2-ranked Lakes (3-0, 7-0) at 7 p.m. Thursday at Auburn Memorial Stadium. Auburn Mountainview’s Victor Korchemniy piled up 163 yards on 17 carries in the contest, including a 74-yard touchdown run… The Auburn Trojans (2-4, 2-5) fell 10-7 to No. 7-ranked Kentlake (7-0, 7-0) on Thursday. The Trojans lone touchdown came on a 63-yard fumble return by Seth Mizoguchi in the first quarter. The Trojans will host Kent-Meridian (1-5, 1-6) at 7 p.m. next Friday at Auburn Memorial Stadium.
