Despite leading at the intermission, the Auburn Riverside Ravens fell 26-12 to Kentlake in South Puget Sound League North 4A action Friday night at Auburn Memorial Stadium.
The Ravens got on the board first in the season opener, with senior Conner Bjornstad scoring on a 6-yard run. Kentlake blocked the point after attempt, leaving the score at 6-0 going into the half.
Kentlake scored the next three touchdowns in the contest, with quarterback Caleb Saulo hooking up with Austin Pernell for a 40-yard touchdown to get things started in the third quarter.
The Falcons stretched their lead in the third with Nick Kramlich and Saulo hooking up for a 3-yard touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, Kentlake scored twice on the ground with Caleb Mathena scoring on a 18-yard run and Saulo running one in from the 1-yard line.
Riverside scored the final touchdown of the game with senior John Hakala finding Leander Johnson for a 17-yard touchdown.
The Ravens will hit the road next week with a 7 p.m. contest on Saturday against Kent-Meridian at French Field.
