Auburn Riverside senior Brooklynn Hinkens will attend and play basketball at California State University Bakersfield on scholarship next year.
Hinkens was a three-year starter for the Ravens and an integral part of the 2010 undefeated 4A state championship squad. During that season, she started every game, was third on the team in scoring and shot 45-percent from 3-point range.
As a freshman, Hinkens was honored as the Auburn Riverside Junior Varsity MVP. She also earned all-South Puget Sound League North honorable mentions in 2009 and 2010 and was awarded first-team honors in 2011.
As a sophomore, Hinkens led the SPSL 4A North and South in 3-point shooting with a 50-percent average. The mark is tied for third all-time in the SPSL.
This past season, Hinkens was second on the team in scoring and led the SPSL North with 37 3-point buckets.
Hinkens will play next season for the CSU Bakersfiled Roadrunners, who joined NCAA Division I this past season.
