Auburn Riverside Raven girls basketball coach Tim Nelson has stepped down after just one season at the helm.
Nelson, who led the Ravens to second place in the South Puget Sound League North 4A with a 13-3 record, was chosen North 4A Coach of the Year.
Auburn Riverside finished 18-7 overall.
“Tim Nelson is a high character individual who has the ability to impart his love of the game to his athletes. He will be missed by all of us who have had a chance to work with him,” Auburn Riverside Athletic Director Doug Aubert said.
“I leave with high regard for Auburn Riverside,” Nelson said. From the day I entered the building, I was eagerly welcomed by staff and administration offering to do all they could to help me settle in to my new role. Moreover, I will always remember the respectful and spirited student body as a highlight of my time at Auburn Riverside High School.”
The search for Nelson’s replacement will begin immediately, Aubert said.
