Auburn Riverside High School senior wide receiver Drew Wallen was selected as Seattle Seahawks/Century Link Athlete of the Week last week.
The honor came with a $1,000 donation to Auburn Riverside’s ASB fund. Wallen received a personalized Nike Seahawks jersey, a customized Seahawks football, two tickets and sideline passes to last Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
Sue Anderson, a vice president from Century Link, and SeaGal Jessica presented the award Oct. 10. Auburn Riverside students packed the commons area for the award presentation.
Wallen was chosen for the award based on his dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership, reliability and weekly athletic performance. He maintains a 3.99 GPA and spend hours volunteering at the humane society, his church, Key Club and more. He also is the ASB president and plays on the basketball team.
Wallen and the Ravens are undefeated at 6-0 in the South Puget Sound League North 4A race.
The Seahawks, Century Link and Q13Fox/Joe TV sponsor the weekly award during the high school fall sports season.
