The Auburn Trojans put an end to their 5-game losing streak in grand style on Friday, dominating Kent-Meridian 49-21 in South Puget Sound League North 4A action at Auburn Memorial Stadium.
The Trojans (3-4 league, 3-5 overall)were led by junior running back Darnell Hagans’ who had 225 yards and four rushing touchdowns. Senior Chandler Link added a pair of rushing TDs and senior quarterback Josh McCoy chipped in with a 48-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Quincy Carter had two TD runs for the Royals (1-6, 1-7).
The sixth-place Trojans will close out the season Friday against district rival Auburn Riverside.
ALSO: Auburn Riverside Kameron Boardway had 10 catches for 106 yards and a TD in a 27-13 loss to Kentwood, Friday at French Field.
The Ravens (3-5, 2-5) found themselves in a 14-7 hole in the first half and were not able to dig their way out against the Conquerors (5-3, 5-2).
Jaray Bates finished with a game-high 80 yards on 23 carries with a rushing TD.
Andrey Zadneprovskiy added eight catches for 81 yards.
Quarterback Josh Latta was 23-of-36 for 232 yards a TD and three interceptions.
On defense Drew Standish had nine solo tackles and an assist and Kevin Mast had five solo tackles and a sack.
The seventh-place Ravens will play Auburn at 7 p.m. Friday at Auburn Memorial Stadium.
