Auburn Trojan baseball | AT A GLANCE

The Trojans look to leadership and production from seniors Sansom and McCoy. McCoy, a returning All-SPSL North 4A honorable mention at catcher last season, will be the team’s No. 1 starter. Sansom takes over behind the plate when McCoy is pitching and can play just about any position in the field, including pitcher.

“We’re a young team with a good core. They’re going to have to learn to produce at the varsity level,” Alastra said. “We’re going to play pretty solid defense. We’re going to have to manufacture runs. We’re not going to be a home run-hitting power team.”

• MARK YOUR CALENDAR: March 19 vs. Auburn Mountainview; and April 18 at Auburn Riverside.
