Auburn’s Tyler Tanner recently delivered a pair of solid finishes at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe.
Tanner, who has dominated the late model field at Rochester, went farther north to finish fifth and sixth in twin 50-lap features around Monroe’s 5/8-mile oval on June 25.
Tanner, 19, a student at Arizona State University, blistered the track in qualifying with a one-lap, 22.658-second lap, earning him the No. 2 spot.
In the first feature, Tanner moved up to sixth before his Tanner Motorsports Chevrolet tightened up. Tanner was able to hold his position to the checkered flag.
In the second twin 50, Tanner quickly moved up to second place before his car tightened up. He would settle for fifth.
Tanner’s next scheduled event is South Sound Speedway in Rochester on Saturday.
He makes his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Indianapolis on July 29.
Olympic Trailer Sales, Kings Transmission, Keg-n-Cue, Loehners, Cranes, Spin Tee’s, Capitol City Press, Denny’s, Racing Electronics, Hamke Race Cars & T.O.E are sponsoring Tanner’s Chevrolet ride this season.
