The Auburn Youth Soccer Association U-14 Synergy boys team has qualified to play in the Washington State Challenge Cup with a 2-1 win over Nortac Colibri last Sunday.
Zac Morris scored the winning goal in the game on an assist from Andrew Nordlie.
The team will play in the Challenge Cup on April 10-11 at the Starfire Soccer Complex in Tukwila. The winner of the tournament advances to the regional tournament to be held in Medford, Ore., in June.
Following a 1-0 loss in the preliminaries two weeks ago, Synergy wracked up four straight wins to claim their berth in the final four of the Challenge Cup.
“The boys have started to play well as a team,” said four-year coach Tom Persons. “They have worked hard all season with their conditioning and have improved their ball skills. I have 17 very talented boys who have come together to play hard as a team.”
