TROJAN SUMMER CAMPS

TROJAN SUMMER CAMPS

Camps in BASEBALL and FASTPITCH are scheduled for June 23-27 at the Auburn High School baseball complex. Elementary-age players will meet from 9-11:30 a.m.; and middle school-age players will meet from 1-3:30 p.m. The cost is $115, and includes a T-shirt. Early registration is encouraged. The focus will be on offense, defense, speed training, throwing arm care, throwing programs, base-running concepts and position-specific instruction. The camps will be directed by coach Brian Embery. GRAND SLAM CAMPS

These camps are for players ages 6-12, and are staffed by local high school coaches and current college players who teach fundamentals in a fun, upbeat environment. Camps are scheduled for July 7-10 at Daffodil Park in Sumner, July 14-17 at Petrovitsky Park in Renton, and July 21-24 at South County Ballfield Park in Federal Way. The cost is $99. BASKETBALL

AUBURN MOUNTAINVIEW CAMP

This camp for boys and girls who will be entering grades 1-8 in the fall is scheduled for June 30-July 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day in the main gym at Auburn Mountainview High School. The focus will be on improving and developing fundamental skills. The cost is $60, and $40 for siblings. The camp will be directed by Auburn Mountainview boys coach Jon Price and Mountainview girls coach Chris Carr. AUBURN TROJAN CAMP

This camp for boys and girls who will be entering grades 3-9 will take place July 21-14 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day at Auburn High School. The cost is $85 for early registration, and $95 for registration on the first day of camp. The cost includes a T-shirt and a basketball. SHOTCALLERS TOURNAMENT

This tournament is schedule for June 13-15 at Sumner and Bonney Lake high schools. It is open to boys and girls teams in grades 5-12. The team entry fee is $215, with a three-game guarantee. GRACE BASKETBALL CAMP

BOATING

KENT DRAGON BOAT ASSOCIATION

The association is inviting anyone interested in paddling a 48-foot dragon boat to Lake Meridian in Kent on Saturdays (before 8 a.m.) and Tuesdays (6 p.m.) through mid October. CHEERLEADING

SOUTH ELITE ALL-STAR TRYOUTS

This organization, which practices at Kentwood High School and is the first team in the state to win a bid to the World Cheerleading Championships, will conduct tryouts in May for both new and experienced cheerleaders. Tryout dates are May 13 for Juniors, Youth and Minis (age 14 and under), from 6-8 p.m.; and on May 15 or Seniors (age 18 and under) of all levels, also from 6-8 p.m. South Elite also has new “Blue” level teams that offer a more affordable way to participate in all-star cheer. 5-TOOL SUMMER RESIDENT CAMPS

These camps for FASTPITCH and BASEBALL, conducted by Auburn High School and Evergreen State Sports, will offer three one-week sessions: July 20-24 (fundamentals for ages 8-14), July 27-31 (advanced fundamentals for ages 15-18) and Aug. 3-7 (fundamentals for ages 8-14). Camps will take place at the Brannan Sports Complex in Auburn, and campers will be housed and meals will be provided at Cascade Middle School in Auburn. STEELHEAD SUMMIT

This bi-anual gathering of concerned groups, anglers and citizens to discuss the latest issues facing steelhead throughout their range, is scheduled for Saturday May 31, from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Seattle Airport Marriott. AYSA SYNERGY

This Auburn Youth Soccer Association club will conduct tryouts at Game Farm Park in Auburn for girls age groups on May 17, 19 and 24 as follows: U-16 AND U-17 from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. on May 17 and May 24, and from 6-7:30 p.m. on May 19. RAVENS SUMMER TEAM

Registration is open to boys and girls ages 8-18, with all ability levels welcome. The team practices on the courts at Auburn Riverside High School beginning June 26, and is open to players from throughout the region. Match play continues through July.
