The Raven boys got back on the winning track this past Tuesday with a 5-0 win over Kent-Meridian.
Auburn Riverside (5-1-3 league, 5-1-3 overall) struggled during spring break losing their first game of the season, 2-0 to Kentlake and battling to a 1-1 tie with Kentwood.
Against Kent-Meridian (0-9-0 league, 0-9-0 overall), however, the team looked to have regained their winning ways, according to coach Robyn Saarenas.
“After a lackluster set of spring break games the boys looked good,” she said. “We had outstanding performances by captain’s Matt Zeman and Shane Guiterrez.”
The Ravens got goals from Kevin Wien, Dalen Leverenz and John Buell, as well as two from backup goalie Jacob Baumann.
Steven Fairbanks contributed two assists, with Zeman pitching in for one as well.
Derek Hawn earned the shutout.
“We came out with positive energy to get back on a winning role,” Saarenas said.
