Central’s Williams tabbed GNAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Central Washington University junior Brandon Williams, an Auburn Mountainview graduate, recently earned Great Northwest Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors for his March 8 performance in a 6-1 win over Northwest Nazarene.

Central Washington University junior Brandon Williams, an Auburn Mountainview graduate, recently earned Great Northwest Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors for his March 8 performance in a 6-1 win over Northwest Nazarene.

Williams had one of the most memorable performances in recent school history as he tossed eight stellar innings, striking out 15 batters with no walks. Williams became the second pitcher in CWU NCAA Division II history to record 15 strikeouts in one game.

In the 6-1 win over NNU, Williams struck out the side three times.

In an 8-2 win against Montana State Billings on Saturday afternoon, Williams (4-1) had another strong outing for the Wildcats, throwing six innings and striking out 10 batters while walking just one.

The Wildcats is 10-11 overall, 5-7 mark in conference play
