Auburn High School’s Jennsyn Chaney signed with Humboldt State University (Arcata, Calif.) on a soccer scholarship.
Chaney was one of nine recruits the program signed for the 2009 season.
Chaney, a 5-foot-11 goalkeeper, was a four-year varsity letter-winner with the Trojans. In 2007, she was an All-South Puget Sound League South honorable mention selection and this past season, while serving as the team’s captain, earned SPSL South first-team and all-area second-team honors.
“Jennsyn is a phenomenal athlete and she is one of the tallest goalkeepers in the region,” said Humboldt State soccer coach Andy Cumbo. “She is very aggressive off her line and she covers the goal very well. She should make an immediate impact as a Lumberjack. She is coming into the program as a very good goalkeeper and we look forward to developing her even more.”
