Junior Mason Cerrillo named Auburn Mountainview baseball 2014 MVP

Junior Mason Cerrillo has been awarded the Auburn Mountainview Player of the Year for his play for the Lions this season. Cerrillo also earned the team's Most Valuable Player award, voted on by his teammates, and the team's Silver Slugger award in recognition of his .380 batting average this season.

The 5-feet, 10-inch, 170-pound left-handed power hitter banged out seven doubles, four triples and five home runs, driving in 22 runs (RBIs), while scoring 17 times himself.

Cerrillo, an infielder and outfielder, stole nine bases, had a .463 on base percentage and a .633 slugging average.

Auburn Mountainview finished the season with an 11-4 South Puget Sound League 3A record, 15-10 overall. The Lions advanced to the district tournament, where they were defeated 10-0 by Mountain View of Vancouver in the second round.
