The Auburn Mountainview 200-yard freestyle relay team set a new school record this past Saturday with a 1 minute, 32.14 second time in the event at the Washington State 3A Boys Swimming and Diving Meet finals.
The Lion relay team, composed of seniors Colin Lempert and Riley King and juniors Tyler Arnold and Luke Lavine, performed so well at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way it earned a 10th-place finish in the event.
Also notching a new individual school record at the state meet was Lavine, who swam a 22.32 in the 50 free, good for 13th place in the state.
Lavine also finished 15th in the 100 free with a 50.09.
The school’s 400 free relay team – with the same swimmers as the 200 free relay – also competed in the finals, finishing 11th with a 3:25.22.
Lempert finished tied for 14th place in the 50 free with a 22.47.
Auburn Mountainview placed 18th out of 35 in the team competition with 34.5 points.
Mercer Island captured the 3A team title with 337 points, with Bellevue snagging second with 282.5 and Lakeside grabbing third with 233.5.
