Lions, Ravens advance in district playoffs | 3A boys soccer

Both teams compete again Saturday with Auburn Mountainview playing for the district title at 4 p.m. against Capital

Auburn Mountainview scored two goals in the final three minutes to secure its third consecutive state-playoff appearance with a 3-2 win Thursday night against Hazen in the Class 3A West Central/Southwest bi-district tournament at Renton Memorial Stadium.

The Lions (15-2-0) play Capital at 4 p.m. Saturday at Highline Memorial Stadium for the district’s No. 1 seed into state.

Meanwhile, Auburn Riverside (13-3-0) will play a winner-to-state, loser-out contest against Wilson at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highline. The winner of that match earns the district’s No. 4 seed into state. Brandon Gonzalez scored a pair of goals in the Ravens’ 3-0 playoff win Thursday against Kennedy Catholic.
