Jared Gray struck out eight in a complete-game four-hitter as host Auburn Mountainview beat Bonney Lake 7-2 on Thursday to capture the 3A South Puget Sound League title.
The Lions (15-1, 12-0 3A SPSL) clinched their third straight league title with two games to go, defeating Bonney Lake (15-3, 10-2) for the second consecutive day.
On Wednesday, Justin Marsden tossed six shutout innings, striking out 10 and finishing with a five-hitter in the Lions’ 2-1 win over the host Panthers.
Ikaika Nahaku doubled and drove in a run for Auburn Mountainview.
On Thursday, Jeffrey Morgan, Garrett Neiss, Alex Gleason, Hudson Byorick and Josh Swanson each drove in a run for the Lions.
