Lions undefeated league record snapped by Gators 3-1; Auburn and Riverside battle to 2-2 tie | Prep Girls Soccer

The Auburn Mountainview girls were dealt their first South Puget Sound League 3A loss by Decatur last night at Federal Way Stadium.

Mountainview (4-1-0 league, 8-3-0 overall) got things started with senior Sydney Coleman scoring in the closing minutes of the half on an assist from senior Hillary Frett.

A mere 23-seconds later Decatur (3-1-1, 6-3-1) junior speedster Ashley Graves, evened it up with a strike just beyond the reach of Lion junior goalkeeper Jessica McAllister.

Knotted at 1-1 after the intermission, the Gators added two goals in the second half, with senior Jennifer Kanesta finding junior Abby McFaul on a corner kick and freshman Maggie Hale booting in an unassisted goal.

Mountainview will host Lakes (0-5-0, 3-7-0) at 7 p.m. Thursday and face Bonney Lake (4-1-0, 10-1-0) at 7 p.m Tuesday at Auburn Mountainview High School.

Elsewhere: The Auburn and Auburn Riverside girls soccer teams battled to a 2-2 tie in South Puget Sound League North 4A action Tuesday night at Auburn Memorial Stadium.

Freshman Hanna Mizoguchi got the scoring started in the match with a goal on an assist from junior Alyssa Wall at the 18-minute mark.

The Trojans (2-7-1) stretched their lead to 2-0 in the waning minutes of the first half when senior Sadie Phonpadith connected with freshman McKinley Johnson for a goal.

The Ravens (3-7-1) roared back in the second half with sophomore Ashley Enlow scoring at the 41-minute mark on an assist from sophomore Katie Baber. Three minutes later senior Megan Amis tied the game up on an assist from Enlow.

Riverside hosts Tahoma (10-0-0) at 7 p.m. Thursday and will travel to Jefferson (5-3-2) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Auburn travels to Kent-Meridian at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and will host Kentlake at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
