The Auburn Mountainview girls clinched first place in the South Puget Sound League 3A with a 3-0 win over Lakes on Wednesday.
The Lions (9-0 league, 11-2 overall) downed the Lancers (1-7, 2-9) 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 with junior Kelsey Fausko leading the team with 14 kills, 2 blocks and 3 aces.
Sophomore Sam Odren added 19 assists and senior Alex Odren contributed 10 digs and two aces. Caitlin Carr chipped in with eight kills and eight digs.
Mountainview closes out their regular season with a 7 p.m. home game against Decatur (1-8, 2-12) on Tuesday.
The team will move on the sub-district tourney Oct. 30 at Bremerton High School.
ELSEWHERE: Auburn Riverside defeated Kentridge 3-2 in South Puget Sound League North 4A action on Thursday. The Ravens (5-2, 7-5) won the match with scores of 25-15, 22-25, 25-21, 25-12, 15-13. Riverside was led by Brooklynn Bradbury with 45 assists and Alison Wuerch with 15 kills and four blocks. Maureen Sachs added 17 kills. The Chargers (4-3, 5-6) were led by Kendall Sanders’ 17 kills and 12 digs. The Ravens will close out their season with a 7:15 p.m. game Tuesday at Auburn (2-5, 4-9)… Auburn fell 3-0 to Jefferson (1-6, 2-9)on Thursday, with scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-21. Isia Johnson had six kills and 10 digs and Sandi Mihaylova had 23 assists.
