Nine Auburn Mountainview baseball players were named to the All-South Puget Sound League 3A squad for their play this season.

Nine Auburn Mountainview baseball players were named to the All-South Puget Sound League 3A squad for their play this season.

Senior Joey Cassano was honored with selections to the first and second teams for his play at second base and pitcher, respectively.

On the hill, Cassano finished the season with a 3-2 record and 2.37 ERA in 20.2 innings pitched. He also had three saves and struck out 28 while giving up just 19 hits.

At the plate, Cassano hit .367 with 18 hits, six RBIs and a double in 71 at-bats. He scored 19 runs and struck out just seven times.

Also earning first-team honors were juniors Justin Marsden, Josh Swanson and Jeffery Morgan.

Senior Tyler Friis and junior Mason Cerrillo were chosen as second-team honorees and juniors Ikaika Nahaku and Hudson Byorick, as well as senior Brandon Mozzone, were named honorable mentions.

Auburn Mountainview posted a 15-10 record this year, 11-4 in league.

Bonney Lake senior Michael Gretler was named the league’s Most Valuable Player and Bonney Lake’s Mike Olson was selected Coach of the Year.

Lakes earned the Sportsmanship Award.
