Preps of the Week

Kelley Voss, Auburn Riverside:

Grade: Senior.

Sport: softball.

Accomplishment: Voss was 3-for-4 against Lakes this past week, with three RBIs and two triples. The Lions were victorious in the contest 15-3. Voss also put together a 2-for-4 performance in Auburn Mountainview’s 10-1 win over Peninsula this past week. The Lions are in third-place in the SPSL 3A with an 8-6 league record, 9-8 overall.

If you could invite anyone in the world for dinner, whom would you invite and what would you serve: Nomar Garciaparra and I would serve food from Azteca.

Favorite class: calculus.

Favorite Movie: “Little Miss Sunshine.”

Most recent book/author read: “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Klay” by Michael Chabon.

Other information: Voss is planning to attend Iowa State University where she will study mechanical engineering.

Danny shelton, Auburn:

Grade: Sophomore.

Sport: track and field.

Accomplishment: Shelton, a sophomore thrower for the Trojans, recently earned a personal best toss of 52-8.25 in the shot put at the Shoreline Invitational. His toss is the 18th best in the state currently. Shelton also notched a PR in the discus with a 137-11 earlier this season.

If you could invite anyone in the world for dinner, whom would you invite and what would you serve: My grandma and I’d have a feast for her.

Favorite class: advanced weightlifting.

Favorite Movie: ”The Hulk.”

Other information: Shelton has received letters of interest from eight colleges and plays offensive and defensive line for the Trojans.

Kenny Krotzer, Auburn Riverside:

Grade: Junior.

Sport: track and field.

Accomplishment: Krotzer, a distance runner for the Ravens, currently has the fastest 800 and 1,600 times in the state with a 1:53.63 and 4:12.48. He recently notched a personal best in the 3,200 with a 9:46.60 at the Jefferson, Kentwood and Auburn Riverside tri-meet.

If you could invite anyone in the world for dinner, whom would you invite and what would you serve: Krotzer said he would invite TV and radio personality Adam Carolla and serve spaghetti.

Favorite class: physics.

Favorite Movie: “The Lion King.”

Other information: Krotzer said he has the best sideburns in Auburn Riverside history, carries a 4.0 GPA and is the junior class president.
