The Auburn baseball team fell to Jefferson 6-5 on Friday, giving up eight hits and committing three errors in the loss.
Andrew Sansom provided the offense for the South Puget Sound League North 4A eighth-place Trojans (3-8 league, 5-8 overall), going 2-of-3 from the dish with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Austin Campbell was awarded the win with a five-hit complete game with six strikeouts and six walks. Nick Porter was tagged with the loss.
ALSO: The Ravens (5-9, 7-11) fell 8-5 to Tahoma on Friday, falling to seventh-place in the SPSL North 4A. Riverside was led by RJ Gius who had a three-run home run in the first inning. Michael Sherwin added a double and an RBI for the Ravens. Gius was the losing pitcher and Jared Casper earned the win with five innings pitched, giving up just three hits and striking out nine. The Ravens gave up three home runs to Jefferson hitters, with Brian Olson, Lance Schroder and Taylor Smart all going yard. The Trojans and Ravens will square off tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Auburn High School.
