The Rainier Christian girls golf program earned a third-place finish at the state 1B/2B championship tournament May 24-25 at Meadow Park Golf Course in Lakewood.

The Rainier Christian girls golf program earned a third-place finish at the state 1B/2B championship tournament May 24-25 at Meadow Park Golf Course in Lakewood.

Senior Kim Brumfield finished fourth in the girls field with a two-round 180. Brumfield will attend and play golf for Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa next season.

Senior Amelia Erwin finished 12th with a two-round total of 202. Erwin will study culinary arts at Renton Technical College next year.

The third-place finish is the highest ever for a Rainier Christian girls golf team.

In the boys competition, junior Josh Schireman shot a two-round 163, good for fourth place.
