The Auburn Riverside girls basketball team claimed the No. 5 seed out of the South Puget Sound League tourney with a 72-29 thrashing of Puyallup, this Saturday at Auburn High School.
The Ravens led 37-16 at the half and clamped down defensively in the second-half holding the Vikings (11-5, 12-9) to just 12 points.
The Ravens (13-3 league, 16-6 overall) were led by Amanda Thomson’s 22 points, with Kat Cooper chipping in with 14 points. Mercedes Wetmore and Kara Jenkins added nine points apiece.
Auburn Riverside will host South Kitsap this Wednesday, at Auburn Riverside High School in round one of the West Central District tourney.
