Auburn Riverside High School’s competition cheer team brought home first place in the senior varsity category and the grand prize trophy in the school team category at the Sea-to-Sky International Cheerleading Championship in Vancouver, B.C., on March 28-29.

More than 50 teams from Canada, Washington and Oregon competed in the two-day event.

Representing Auburn Riverside at the competition were team captains Kristi Suznevich and Angela Welker; and teammates Kodie Trinidad, Aly Pavel, Morgan Poe, Taryn Jones, Tani Sata, Brooke Krinsky, Brenna Gale, Colleen Brewer, Mackenzie Kneer, Ashley Smith and Tahlia Terhune.

The team is coached by Jibreel Rayam and Kelly Brown.

Auburn Riverside’s cheer squad will host tryouts for the 2009-10 team in early May.
