Auburn Riverside turned away Columbia River 4-1 in a 3A West Central/Southwest bidistrict elimination match Saturday to clinch a berth into the state Class 3A state soccer playoffs.

The Ravens (13-4-1) open the state tournament against Roosevelt (10-6-3) in a loser-out contest at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Seattle’s Interbay Stadium.

A win moves the Ravens on to the quarterfinals and a tilt against either Bainbridge (13-3-3) or Glacier Peak (15-3-1), date and place to be determined.

The 3A tourney culminates May 29-30 at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.

Auburn Riverside, the South Puget Sound League 3A champion, recovered from a 1-0 loss to Central Kitsap in first-round district play last Thursday.

Central Kitsap’s Jaeger Skifstad scored in the 57th minute off a free kick.
