Tahoma jumped out to an early lead and ended up with a 50-24 victory over Auburn Riverside last Friday.
Tahoma traveled to Auburn Memorial Stadium to pick up its second consecutive South Puget Sound League 4A North Division victory.
The Ravens are 1-1 in league play.
The Bears scored on their first possession following two long rushing gains by Niko Madison. Tyler Phippen punched the ball in from 10 yards out for the score.
Madison scored the second touchdown, a 55-yard pass play from quarterback Travis Montoya.
With Tahoma up two scores at the end of the first period, it looked like a rout, but Auburn Riverside battled back with 18 points in the second.
The first score, a 1-yard run came from quarterback John Hakala.
The Bears responded with a 51-yard touchdown run from Jake Akins.
The Ravens came back with two scores, both pass plays from Hakala to Nick Alexander.
The teams went into the locker room at the half with Tahoma up 21-18, and it looked like it would be a tight game in the second half.
However, Tahoma exploded with 15 points in the third and 14 in the fourth.
The Ravens were most effective through the air, but could only muster six points in the fourth.
Madison scored another touchdown off a 39-yard pass play from Montoya. Atkins ran for two scores, a 72-yard tear and 26-yard.
Zach Browne scored the final six for Tahoma in the fourth off a 33-yard run.
Connor Bjornstad scored for Auburn Riverside in the fourth with a 5-yard run.
Tahoma racked up 529 total yards and 422 rushing to the Raven’s 337 total and 113 rushing.
Akins raked up 143 yards on the ground and Madison 131 for the Bears.
Auburn Riverside had 224 yards through the air to the Bears 107.
Riverside was led by Bjornstad with 82 yards on 11 carries. Ryan Adams added 69 yards on the ground. As a team the Ravens had 354 total offensive yards – 203 in the air and 151 rushing. Hakala finished with two TDs on 13 of 29 passing. The Ravens will play Todd Beamer (0-2, 0-2 SPSL South) at 7 p.m. Friday.
