AUBURN PARKS CUB CLINIC

This developmental program is for boys and girls entering grades 1-2 in the fall of 2010 and who reside in or attend a public or private school within the Auburn or Dieringer school district boundaries. It is machine-pitch and emphasizes fundamentals, sportsmanship, and fun. It is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 6-Aug. 10, and includes practices and games. The cost is $30 for Auburn residents and $38 for non-residents if registration is completed by May 26. Registration received after that date is $10 additional. This is a call-your-own league for players age 18 and older, without officials, trophies or playoffs. Two leagues — National and Continental — will be offered. Teams will play a 10-game schedule, with National League games on Mondays from April 5-June 8, and Continental League games on Tuesdays from April 6-June 9, all at Green River Community College. An ADULT SPRING LEAGUE will be offered April 11-May 16 on Sundays at Game Farm Park. All players must be 18 or older. Teams are six-a-side, and will play an eight-game schedule, with two games a day. (No games on May 9.) Three leagues — American, National and Continental — will be available. Division winners advance to playoffs. The team entry fee is $600. The registration deadline is March 24. BEGINNERS PROGRAM

The Sno-King Junior Thunderbirds will offer a year-round, beginners-level program for boys and girls ages 5-10. No skating experience is necessary. The program will be on Saturdays at Castle Ice in the Renton Highlands, or at Kingsgate Ice Arena in Kirkland. Players are welcome to join at any time. LEARN TO SKATE CLASSES

An eight-week series with group and private lessons for boys, girls and adults is being offered at KENT VALLEY ICE CENTRE. Instruction is based on criteria set forth by the Ice Skating Institute. Skating classes are a solid starting point for those interested in figure skating or hockey. The facility is located at 6015 S. 240th St. in Kent. SOFTBALL

AUBURN PARKS ADULT LEAGUE

This recreational league offers a variety of levels of play to match numerous ability levels. Teams will play two games per night (except coed Continental League), and will play a 10- to 16-game schedule, depending on league and night of play. Players must be 18 and older. All leagues go from mid April to mid June. Team registration fees vary by league. A mandatory league coaches meeting is scheduled for March 31 at 7 p.m. at the Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation office, 910 Ninth St. S.E., and any team that does not have a team member present at the meeting will be assessed a $50 fee. SWIMMING

AUBURN POOL

The pool, located adjacent to Auburn High School at 516 4th St. N.E. offers several programs. PUBLIC SWIMS are available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7-8 p.m., Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. ($3 for adults, $2.50 for children and seniors, or $9 for a family). LAP SWIMS are offered Monday through Friday from 6-7:30 a.m. and noon-1 p.m.; Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8-9 p.m. ($4 adults, $3.50 children and seniors), and Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. ($1 for everyone). LESSONS are offered on a Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday basis, with upcoming sessions set for March 1-25. Costs are $6 per lesson for ages 3-6; $5 per lesson for ages 6-14.
