From the Sideline
“In the first playoff match of the season, the Lions faced the Mount Rainier Rams at Highline Memorial Stadium. In 80 minutes of play, Julian had seven saves and was only scored upon by a penalty kick in the 12th minute. Tied 1-1 entering 10 minutes of golden goal, Julian tallied three more saves, forcing a shootout to decide the winner of the match. In the shootout, Huizar dominated the Rams. He made two diving saves, giving the lions the 3-2 PK edge and a playoff victory for the Lions. Great job, Julian.

“Ashley went 2-for-2 against Federal Way, 3-for-3 vs. Auburn with three singles, and 2-for-4 vs. Thomas Jefferson with a single, double and sac bunt. Total for the week: 7-for-9 with six singles and one double, scored three runs and had 4 RBIs and a stolen base. ”
