Auburn Mountainview is sending a select group of senior stars to college on scholarships.
Four standout student-athletes joined family, friends, teachers and coaches at the school Wednesday morning, National Signing Day.
Those signing scholarships are: Gresch Jensen (football, University of Montana); Gavin Robertson (football, Arizona); Vaughn Daggs (football, Idaho); and Christian Rotter (soccer, Western Washington).
Scholarship-bound to Western Oregon for basketball are Tristan Miguel and Ryan Lacey.
Jensen, a 6-foot-3, 212-pound quarterback, threw for 2,922 yards and 30 touchdowns in leading the Lions to an 8-3 season and a berth in the state Class 3A playoffs.
Robertson – a three-star recruit as a 6-2, 200 pound safety, compiled 33 tackles, 24 of which were solo, last season. He averaged 8.3 tackles a game throughout his career at the school.
Daggs, a 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback and wide receiver, made 37 total tackles and four interceptions last season. Like Robertson, he shone on both sides of the ball.
Rotter, who excels as a state-class runner in cross country and track, is an exceptional soccer player and student.
