The girls swim and dive season began in the fall, and following the state championship conclusion on Nov. 12, the boys swim season will soon begin. Their state tournament will be Feb. 16-18, 2023, at the King County Aquatic Center.
The Auburn Mountainview Lions are a lot more comfortable in the pool than their nickname and mascot may suggest. The Lions dominated in the pool at the 2022 state tournament. Mountainview came in eighth place — their best finish since 2002. Their best finish previously was ninth place back in 2015.
The Auburn Trojans only had two athletes competing at the King County Aquatic Center last February. Auburn finished in the top 20 at the 3A level. The athletes were both divers, and were inside the top 10 of the state. Senior Isaac Osmak finished in seventh place, winning 12 points, and freshman Levi Erickson finished one place above his teammate in sixth, winning 13 points.
Auburn Riverside has not been represented at the state tournament since the 2018 tournament. The Ravens start their swim season on Dec. 15 when they take on Todd Beamer at the Auburn Pool, and the first race begins at 4:30 p.m.
Auburn High School begins their season with two meets on the road before facing Todd Beamer on Jan. 10 at the Auburn Pool. The Lions look to continue their streak of good swimming in the 2023 season, when they take on Federal Way on Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m. inside the Auburn Pool.
