Trojans dominate SPSL North all-league football selections

Auburn football boasts 13 players named to division's all-league squad

The South Puget Sound League North Division champion Auburn Trojans were honored with 13 players named to the division’s all-league squad.

Senior Jeff Gouveia led the pack with selections as the Offensive Back of the Year and Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year, for his play at running back and linebacker, respectively.

Teammate Chris Young was picked as the SPSL North Defensive Back of the Year and Carlo Lavoie was selected as the All-Purpose Player of the Year.

Young, Gouveia and Lavoie also were selected to the first-team defensive squad and Gouveia made the first-team offense.

Also getting a nod to the first-team squad were tight end Isaiah Johnson and offensive lineman Danny Shelton, who was selected for his line play on both sides of the ball.

Senior Doug Davis was selected to the all-league special teams squad.

Lavoie, Young, Johnson and offensive lineman Zac Tate were picked for the SPSL North all-league second team as well.

Bryan Kasa and Nick Conlan earned honorable mentions.

Auburn’s Gordon Elliott was selected as the Head Coach of the Year and assistant coach Dan Irwin was named Assistant Coach of the Year.

ALSO: Auburn Riverside senior Dalton Thomas was selected to the SPSL North all-league squad as a wide reciever. Other Ravens getting selections were Jake Pele, Brendan Meehan and Sean Harlington who were all named to the all-league second team and Corey Carson and Brennett Rodseth who earned honorable mentions.
