Auburn mustered a last-inning 9-8 win over the visiting Kentlake in South Puget Sound League North 4A baseball play Tuesday.
The Trojans improved to 4-6 league, 4-8 overall, while the Falcons dropped to 6-5 and 8-6.
After going up 5-0 in the first inning, Auburn allowed five runs in the Falcons’ half of the first and two runs in the top of the second, to go down 7-5. The Trojans posted two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to regain the lead, 8-7. Kentlake tied it up with a run in the sixth, with Auburn putting the game away in the bottom of the seventh.
Justin Burns was 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBIs. Josh McCoy added an RBI and a double.
Andrew Sansom earned the win on the mound, with Kentlake’s Quinton Hartman getting tagged for the loss.
The game was Auburn’s seventh game in the past nine days.
