Auburn Riverside graduate and current University of Oregon tight end David Paulson was honored with a First Team Pac-10 All-Academic squad selection. Paulson was selected on the strength of his 3.68 GPA. Paulson, a sophomore, is a business administration major.
Earlier in the season Paulson was named the Ducks Offensive Player of the Week for his role in a 43-19 victory over the Univesity of Washington. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound tight end caught two passes for 59 yards.
Paulson has made five starts for the 9-2 Ducks and averaged a team-high 15.9 yards per reception.
The BCS No. 7 ranked Ducks will host in-state rival Oregon State University at 7 p.m. this Thursday. A win against the Beavers will earn Oregon a shot at the Big Ten conference champs at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., Jan. 1.
This Thursday’s game will be televised on ESPN.
